Track & OCS Expert - Civil Works (High‑Speed Rail)

Our client is a leading regional EPC and infrastructure delivery group with a strong track record on large‑scale, complex transport projects across the Middle East and Africa. The organisation is recognised for delivering major rail, metro, and civil infrastructure programmes, often acting as the main contractor on nationally significant projects.

The business combines deep in‑house engineering capability with strong on‑site delivery expertise and works closely with international consultants, suppliers, and technology partners on high‑speed and conventional rail schemes.

The Role

This role is focused on the delivery of track and overhead contact system works within a high‑speed rail programme, with particular emphasis on civil works interfaces. The position will play a key role in ensuring technical compliance, constructability, and integration between track, OCS, and associated civil structures.

The role is well‑suited to an experienced rail professional with strong on‑site and project delivery experience, particularly within contractor or EPC environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and engineering support for track and OCS works within the HSR civil works scope
  • Ensure alignment between track systems, OCS, earthworks, structures, and stations, managing key interfaces
  • Review and support design packages, method statements, and construction sequencing
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and project requirements
  • Support coordination between civil works teams, systems contractors, and international stakeholders
  • Participate in technical meetings, inspections, and site coordination activities
  • Assist with issue resolution related to constructability, tolerances, access, and phasing
  • Support testing, installation readiness, and handover activities relevant to track and OCS packages

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in track engineering and/or OCS systems on major rail projects
  • Solid understanding of civil works interfaces (earthworks, structures, slabs, viaducts, stations)
  • Experience on high‑speed rail or large‑scale mainline rail projects is strongly preferred
  • Background working for main contractors, EPC contractors, or delivery partners
  • Proven ability to operate in complex, multi‑contractor project environments
  • Comfortable working site‑based in challenging delivery programmes

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years in rail infrastructure delivery
  • International project experience, ideally within the Middle East or Africa, is advantageous

Profile Sought

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on rail delivery professional with strong technical credibility in track and OCS, combined with practical experience managing civil works interfaces on site. This is not a purely design role, but one that requires close involvement in construction, coordination, and day‑to‑day delivery on a major HSR programme.
