We are supporting a major LRT infrastructure project in Ontario and are looking to appoint an experienced System Safety Manager - Civil Works to join the delivery team with an immediate start.
This is a senior, hands-on role leading system safety activities across civil works and associated systems on a large-scale mass transit project.
The RoleYou will be responsible for managing and delivering all system safety and RAMS-related activities for the civil scope of works, working closely with engineering, construction, verification & validation, and external stakeholders.
The civil scope includes structures, track, guideway, stations, architecture, buildings, as well as fire & life safety systems, MEP, grounding, elevators and associated interfaces.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead system safety activities for civil works on a major LRT projectOwn and manage the Hazard Log (analysis, review, control and reporting)Develop Construction Safety Certification (CSCC) documentation for all certifiable elementsCarry out detailed safety analyses in line with EN 50126 and applicable North American standardsInterface with the End Client, Independent Safety Assessor (ISA), Designers, Construction and T&C teamsEmbed safety requirements throughout design, construction and deliveryMonitor safety performance, risks and mitigation measuresEnsure full compliance with project, regulatory and industry safety requirementsRequirementsDegree in Engineering or a related technical disciplineStrong background in System Safety / RAMS on rail or transit infrastructure projectsProven experience on rail, LRT, metro or major civil infrastructure schemesExcellent knowledge of EN 50126 (FTA Safety Handbook experience a plus)Confident working with multiple stakeholders in a live construction environmentStrong communication and coordination skillsEnglish fluency required (Italian considered an advantage)
