The Role

This is a senior engineering role with a strong focus on railway systems, safety assurance, and systems integration. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex rail projects, working across the full project lifecycle-from design and systems engineering through to testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.

The role will involve close collaboration with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, and will suit an experienced rail professional comfortable operating in technically and commercially complex environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to project engineering, systems engineering, and safety assurance activitiesSupport the design, integration, verification and validation (V&V), and commissioning of railway systemsInterface with multiple technical disciplines to ensure effective systems integrationProvide oversight and input into contractor management, technical reviews, and risk managementSupport contract negotiations and manage technical and safety‑related contractual mattersApply recognised railway safety standards and best practices throughout project deliveryAct as a technical point of reference within project teams and for clientsSkills & ExperienceExtensive experience in railway project engineering, systems engineering, and safety assuranceStrong technical knowledge of railway systems and interfacesProven experience in design engineering, systems integration, V&V, and commissioningBackground in contractor management, contract negotiation, and risk managementExperience working on major rail or infrastructure projects, ideally in a leadership or senior engineering roleQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering disciplineMinimum of 5 years' experience within the railway industryDemonstrated experience delivering complex, large‑scale rail projects in North America and/or internationallyExperience applying CENELEC, RISSB, CMREA, or equivalent railway safety standardsFluency in EnglishWhy Join?Opportunity to work on innovative, high‑impact rail projects in Canada and internationallyPermanent position with a competitive salary and long‑term career prospectsSupportive, collaborative, and diverse working environmentFlexible working arrangements and strong focus on work‑life balanceModern office environment in a central Toronto location, easily accessible by public transport
