An established, internationally backed transportation infrastructure contractor is urgently seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Integration Lead to support the delivery of a major urban Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Western Canada.
This is a critical systems role on a complex, live construction project approaching advanced testing and commissioning phases. The position requires a strong hands-on presence, deep systems integration knowledge, and the ability to drive readiness across multiple rail subsystems.
The RoleThe Testing & Commissioning Integration Lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering System Integration Testing (SIT) across all rail systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and operationally ready handover.
You will work closely with design, construction, and T&C teams to align testing strategy with staged construction and operational readiness requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop System Integration Test (SIT) procedures Review project requirements and derive dynamic testing procedures involving multiple interfacing systemsWork with design teams to develop staged testing strategies aligned with construction phasesReview Interface Control Documents (ICDs) against design and validation requirementsCoordinate with T&C teams to align subsystem requirements with SIT stagingDerive system requirements from functional and operational project documentation, including:Operations & Maintenance Facility (OMF) functional and parametric programming reportsPower system studiesOperational analysis documentationManage and maintain the Systems Configuration State DocumentReview operational design changes and refine validation methods based on site readinessDefine T&C pre-requisites, manage readiness schedules, and coordinate major system SITsDevelop and apply performance demonstration criteriaActively participate in on-site testing, driving readiness and executionLead and oversee SIT activities including (but not limited to):Line-of-sight and reaction time testingHeadway and operational speed validationAcceleration/deceleration testing under loaded conditionsDynamic testing to demonstrate RAM performanceDegraded mode operations across Signalling, Power, Track, and CommunicationsMultiple vehicle testing, harmonics, failure and rescue scenariosTesting against operational procedures and SOPsKey RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering/construction discipline (or equivalent experience)5+ years' experience on major infrastructure or rail construction projectsProven experience in testing and commissioning of rail transit systems, with expertise in at least one major system such as:SignallingCommunicationsPower / SCADATrackOverhead catenaryTunnel or ventilation systemsStrong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated commitment to a strong safety cultureValid Class 5 driver's licenceAbility to work safely on an active construction site, including:Navigating uneven terrainClimbing stairs and laddersWorking outdoors in variable and extreme weather conditionsWhy ApplyWork on a high-profile, legacy urban rail projectImmediate impact role during a critical project phaseBacked by a global infrastructure group with strong local delivery capabilityOpportunity for hands-on leadership in complex systems integration
